“A letter to President F.M.”

Dear Mr. President Marcos, 

Good day Mr. President, I am Alyssa Nicole Pagador, I am a Grade 10 Special Mathematics Class of Ilocos Sur National High School. First of all, Congratulations sir on winning on your recent election to the Presidency of the Philippines last May 9, 2022. I wrote this letter to say my expectations to you for our country.

I know it must be very difficult to lead a country or more than a hundred million people. But as a student, I have high hopes that you will fulfill your promises that you uttered when you were still running for presidency. I hope that you will be a good leader and a President to all Filipinos. I pray that you will never fail the faces of the Filipinos especially to those who voted, trusted, and rooted for you. I hope that you’re not like other politicians that are corrupt, and doesn’t do their responsibilities for the town, instead they chose to pursue their selfish ambitions before the needs of their people. I know that you want to best for your people and your country. I am expecting that the Philippines would be a better place to live in with you as its leader.

Student’s life in the midst of Pandemic

        Coronavirus disease is an infectious disease. It’s a virus that affects people in different ways. The virus spreads mainly between people who are in close contact with each other. So, face- to- face classes were suspended as a result of the Philippines being completely shut down and with no one being allowed outside. The government set up a new educational system which is the Modular Distance Learning because of how long the pandemic lasted, allowing students like me to at least continue our studies. 

        How has Covid- 19 affected our studies? Without a doubt, the pandemic has caused a lot of difficulties not only to us students but to everyone, not only affecting our school, and work but also their lifestyle and how we  interact with our loved ones. Learning in the midst of a pandemic is a big adjustment for us students as well as our teacher’s. It is difficult for us students since there are no teachers to teach us and not everyone can self study. Although we have our parents, not all of them are able to comprehend or assist their children in their module. During the first quarter of MDL, I was upset with my grades and stressed out about my studies during the pandemic because I struggle to understand most of our lessons without the help of my teachers. But I was able to overcome it my managing my time so that I will mot rush my activities or tasks as the deadline approaches. Second, talking to my family and friends especially when I’m feeling lonely. Lastly, taking a break. It’s okay to have fun after dealing with a lot of stress and problems. You deserve to make time for yourself, make your self happy, treat yourself, and do something fun and enjoyable for doing a good job.

        All of us suffered because of the pandemic. Many have lost their jobs, financial problems, and problems at school. But by helping each other, we will overcome this. But for now, I’m very glad that face- to- face classes is back and I hope it stay that way. It is a good thing that it has been restores so that MDL’s students and teachers won’t have too many difficulties. The students learning will be more understandable and effective, but we will still always obey by the health protocols to prevent that cases from rising. This pandemic has taught us and made us students realize how valuable teachers are. That it is challenging to learn when there are no teachers around. We should always be thankful for the teachers who pass on knowledge and morals. Not only they teach this, but they also have improve students  as better people.

Who Am I?

        We live in a society with many people around us. Even if we all to seem to have similar appearance, we each have our own unique characteristics. Although being a simple question, "Who Am I?" is challenging for me to respond because I don't really know who am I. I don't have anything say to about myself when people ask who am I because I can only simply say my name and I don't have anything interesting to say. that's what makes be a dull person.

        I am a 15- year-old girl named Alyssa Nicole Pagador but people call me Aly. In this world I have different roles. First, I am a daughter. I am always trying to follow, listen, and make my parents proud especially with my studies because that's the only way I'm aware of to compensate while I'm still a student for the hard works and suffering they encountered to give us a good life. Second, being a big sister to my 3 younger siblings. I take care of them, and help them. They are also my friends. Third, I am a student an grateful to all teachers. Lastly, I am a Friend. I always try to be a good influence to them especially most of my friends are younger than me. I am a shy person and sometimes I feel awkward around people I'm not close to but I'm open to be friends with anyone. Once I get comfortable with you, that is when you will know and see the real me. I laugh very loud, sometimes I don't stop talking. My friends often describes me as crazy, funny and also supportive and caring. I'm a friend whose caring and will always listen to you. Like what I said earlier, there's nothing much about me. I can't draw, sing, dance, and not even good in making simple essays. My only skill is playing Flute.

        Answering the question "Who Am I" is long search and lifetime process. We always meet new people, we always experience new challenges and situations. But not only that, we also find and get to know ourselves in different times and ways. People change in a short time for example, our likes and dislikes. People's life is full of experiences. Despite the lot of challenges, I always continue leading and pursuing my life and achieving my goals. Whether you have a lot of talents, interests or not, always be proud of yourself. We are all different in our different ways.
